He was on his way back home and the road happened to swing right by my sleepy little town, so he stopped by for dinner today! He had this little Isuzu Stylus with him that’s had a 4XE1W 1.6 turbo motor swapped in (making a clone of a Japanese Isuzu Gemini Irmscher Turbo). So naturally I had to get the Bellett out for a picture!

I have fond memories of the Stylus! My grandpa had one in maroon, also with a spoiler. I was schlepped around in it many times as a kid. He sold it after he retired in 1998 and moved to Las Vegas.
It’s been a while since I’ve spoken with him; I should give him a call. Thanks for sharing. :)

Ya, it was a shame I couldn’t get the 117 out! The good news is I just received a new head, so that’ll be going to the machine shop soon. Unfortunately, I’m out of country for nearly all of April, so I won’t get to work on it until May. Soon though!
